Who??

ROBB - Co-Founder / Photographer

Phototaker Robb lives in his lower Harlem bachelor pad with his fish, Pork, and his imaginary dog, Giggles.  Before that, he lived in Ohio for 18 years,  Syracuse for 4 years and London for 4 months.  Robb spent the majority of his childhood holed up in his basement doing and creating things he would never mention...even with the most tasty of bribes.  However, he is happy to be reinventing that insanity in front of the camera in a more respectable fashion.  Robb considers himself to be an expert at old school WWF trivia, has a vast collection of pro wrestling memorabilia and will put your ass in a figure four leg lock  if you try acting up.  He has known Jason since flat- top fades were cool and Thundercats was still on tv.  Robb loves jacuzzis, dicey Asian massages, roller skating, seeing new places, youtubing and spending Sunday nights with SmaWa and Nemo.  Growing up, Robb's dream was not to be a photographer, but, rather, an Osmond.  His first experience behind the camera was working at the Antique Photo booth at a local theme park, where he dressed customers as saloon tarts, 'kerchiefed bandits, and the like, and extended the helpful advice, "You can smile if you'd like, but a straight face is more authentic."   He was soon demoted to selling killer whale-shaped mylar balloons at the front gate and left photography behind him forever.  Or so he thought...

JASON - Co-Founder / Photographer
Once upon a time, Jason used his body to create beautiful shapes that caused theatergoers and hookers alike to frolic with joy and wonder. That tended to hurt too much, so he picked up the camera and the computer mouse instead. Now, he creates beautiful shapes on other people, quite often demanding his models to strike poses that otherwise would earn gold medals in rhythmic gymnastics.  His roots lie deep in the mid-west, haling from Solon, Ohio, right outside of Cleveland; the heart of Show Choir festivals, hair weaves, and gold name plate necklaces. He came to New York to be an artist, a teacher, a student, and a rebel. He enjoys any opportunity to bring brilliant minds together, as well as telling people what to do.  His favorite thing to eat is probably Tuna on white, toasted, with lettuce, tomatoes, and oil and vinegar. His friends, family and loved one are grade A, number 1, supersize, with 2 apple pies for a $1.  The taste of dirty sugar is sweet and lemony, with a splash of mint and the funk of 40,000 years.  Jason also partners with dirty sugar as an in-house graphic designer, bringin' dope graphic and web design to and for the people, at half the calories of "the other guys."

CHRISTIAN - Photographer

Christian is so english it hurts - and yet most days he manages to make himself understood, even if it is all 'blimey' this and 'bloody' that. Having fled his country of origin in fear for his sanity, a complex series of adventures ended with him shivering and destitute on the cold hard streets of New York City. It could all have ended in tragedy, had he not been found by Manhattan's very own Fagin, Dodger and Nancy (you decide which is which). They responded to the shots he had been taking over the past few years in the workhouse, and took him under their wing, where he was swiftly initiated into a life of organized photography... somewhere he feels truly at home.

AMY - Style Director
Amy is a native Bostonian (GO SOX), and so ecstatic to be working with such creative misfits! Her wonderfully obsessive relationship with fashion began while rummaging through her mother's ridiculously fierce closet at a babe's age. From that moment forward the door to mix-and-match customized wardrobes was wide open and lettin' all the bugs in! It seems no matter where she went thereafter, the love of putting together a little craziness and being "creative with the closet" for entertainment and attention was put to use. To this day Amy thoroughly enjoys mixing modern with vintage, basic with outrageous, and classic with trendy to achieve a look to make you stand out and others envious (and isn't that really what we all want?). Through her own experiences with not having the means to keep up with her expensive taste, she is a wizard at creating options that you never thought could be in your own existing wardrobe. It is her ultimate goal to not only make you look current and fashionable, but a little ahead of the game as well, all without looking like you're trying too hard to pull it off. Hobbies include arts and crafts (anything concerning glitter, paint, beadwork, glue guns, papier-machiere, yarn, knitting needles, and wearing a beret, smock and mustache), Ebaying, browsing in expensive retail stores whilst brainstorming how to pull it off for cheaper, rummaging through vintage stores for a fantastic random piece to showcase, being madly in love with her amazing and ridiculously talented husband, Brian, and walking her beautiful and sweet big puppy, Rosie. If you are in search of color, texture, creativity, fun, and finding stuff to make you POP while also being waited on hand and foot by your own personal doting stylist with an eye for reinvention, Amy's your gal! Amen and Hallelujah!

JIMMY - Makeup Design
If Jimmy Cortes were to start his own line of cosmetics, surely it would be called "With Love, From Papi." Of course, there would also have to be a perfume and cologne as well; the name calls for it.  Of late, he tends to spend a total of about 24 hours a week painting young women a lovely shade of green. He's also no stranger to working along side Lions of a royal decent, a lake full of elegant swans, and creepy deformed men who prefer to cover half their faces in a white mask...but he ain't mad at it.  But wait, don't think that green paint is where it ends for this Miami bred Cubano-Americano! He's been known to wrangle a mean blend of hair in record time, usually only using his bare fingers, some spring water, a fish bone comb, and Jesus. Some think it's due to the North Carolina School of the Art's Wigs and Makeup Program; others believe it's his uncanny physical resemblance to Tyra Banks; the kids at dirty sugar know it comes from his automatically renewing subscription to Contemporary Wood Paneling Magazine.  Jimmy has worked professionally for such major makeup lines as Stila, Lancome, and Borghese, but honestly... they wouldn't have anything on "With Love, From Papi." Look for the line, soon, at selected Dillard's, Ricky's, and Monica's Weave Emporium and Filafel Delicatessen.
